Roger and Ruth Davis's journey of love began on a blind date. They built a life filled with laughter, and endless memories. Married for sixty-eight years, they had 3 children,
7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. This site is dedicated to sharing their memories.
Roger Davis, beloved husband and father, grandfather and great grandfather, born July 30,1933, to Amanda and Harry Davis in Cascade, Maryland. He lived a life anchored by family and adventure in the outdoors. Raised alongside three brothers and a sister, he served with pride in the army before dedicating years as a machinist at Crown Cork & Seal. He retired at fifty to launch Cove Machinery in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. Roger was a hard worker and had a smart mind for business. A passionate hunter, Roger journeyed across America, Africa, and Canada, collecting countless trophies and a deep reverence for the wild. Above all, he cherished time with his family, weaving love and loyalty into his enduring legacy.
Ruth Davis, born July 27, 1936, to Laura and Truman Zimmerman, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose life radiated warmth and generosity. Raised on a farm with two brothers and four sisters, she grew into a diligent worker. Always giving to others and listening with care, her thoughtful presence made her a confidante to many. As a skilled proofreader for many years, she brought precision to her work, and alongside her husband, she played a vital role in building Cove Machinery in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. Ruth treasured her family with a giant heart and left a legacy of devotion and kindness.
